Cellulite Creams: Are The Effective?
Recently, the popularity of cellulite creams has skyrocketed. However, not everybody is convinced that anti-cellulite creams actually work. For these dubious folks, they surmise that the popularity of these products may have been brought about by media hype and affordability rather than effectiveness and result.
Cellulite Explained
Cellulite is not a scientific or medical term. It is actually a popularized term for the irregular and patchy dimples on the surface of the skin. These are brought about by fat building up in the subcutaneous layer beneath the dermis and epidermis. Since the fat in the subcutaneous layer is stored in upright chamber-like skin, it’s build up goes upward and pushes against the skin causing the ugly dimples that reminds one of cottage cheese.
It is not a pretty picture that is why a majority of the approximate 90% of women afflicted with cellulite are in active quest to eliminate this flaw of nature.
What are Cellulite Creams?
These creams are topical creams applied on the areas affected by cellulite. The body areas most prone to cellulite are the buttocks, thighs, stomach and arms. These are the areas with the most fat deposit in the body.
Anti-cellulite cream products have varied ingredients that are claimed to be potent in reducing cellulite and in preventing their recurrence. However, for purposes of certainty, it is recommended to look for the following natural ingredients that are not only claimed but actually proven to have desirable effects on cellulite reduction and prevention:
- Caffeine – this is effective in reducing and dissolving fat in the subcutaneous layer. Also, when applied topically on the skin, it helps blood vessels to open up and improve circulation.
- Retinol A – is a derivative of Vitamin A that stimulates the production of collagen. Collagen is essential in restoring the elasticity and flexibility of the tissues and the muscles for the prevention of cellulite formation.
- Capsicum Extract – this is also good stimulants for better blood circulation and good in promoting healthy skin.
- Green Tea Extract – this is desirable for the release of toxins from the skin and the slimming effect it produces.
- Shea Butter – is effective in producing smoother and softer skin and promotes better absorption of the cellulite creams on the skin.
These ingredients when combined, are potent in improving the appearance of the skin affected by cellulite. Moreover, since some of these ingredients are actually working to reduce the fat build-up in the skin, continues use of the right product will actually effectively reduce the recurrence of these ugly dimples.
However, it is essential for one to realize that immediate effect is impossible. This is a lot of work and prolonged use, at least for six weeks, will give the skin the needed time to recover its natural texture. Thus, if a product proclaims that it will give fast and long lasting effect, don’t give it a second thought because it is a sham.
